Westover Field was named after past Airport Manager William (Bill) Westover.

Tha Amador County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution naming Amador County Airport "Westover Field".  I do not know the date of this resolution.

The California Legislature Assemble Rules Committee issued a resolution on October 22, 1968, memorializing William (Bill) Westover and commending the naming of the Amador Airport for him.  A copy of this resolution is in the Airport Office.
